Description
Description
Give detailed ID card designs the space and clarity they deserve. The Evolis Agilia uses 600 dpi retransfer printing to carry artwork beyond the card edge, making it well suited to designs with fine text, photographs, logos and full backgrounds. Choose a single-sided or dual-sided configuration to match the information you need on each card.
Detailed printing with full-card coverage
Instead of printing directly onto the card, Agilia prints the design onto transfer film and then applies it to the card surface. This supports over-the-edge coverage and detailed reproduction. The process can also suit compatible cards with surface irregularities, such as chip cards, where the choice of ribbon and card construction matters.
Choose the right cards for your application
The manufacturer lists PVC, composite PVC, PET, polycarbonate and ABS cards within its supported media range. Card thickness is 0.76 to 1.25 mm. For cards with exposed chips, magnetic stripes or signature panels, discuss inhibitor-panel ribbons so those areas can be left clear where required. Confirm your particular card material and construction before ordering supplies.
Keep larger batches organised
A 200-card feeder and 100-card output hopper reduce handling during a batch, while a separate reject box keeps rejected cards apart. Manufacturer-rated speeds reach 150 cards per hour for single-sided YMCK printing and 100 for dual-sided YMCKK work. Actual output depends on the design, settings, encoding and job conditions.
A touchscreen that helps with everyday operation
The 3.5-inch colour touchscreen shows printer status and provides QR-code guidance for assistance. Automatic consumable recognition and accessible loading help with ribbon and film changes. USB and Ethernet are included, so you can connect through a computer or a suitable network setup.
Start designing with included software
Current manufacturer packages include ID-ALL Starter Edition for badge design. Evolis Premium Suite 2 handles printer setup, settings and notifications on Windows and macOS, and Evolis Print Service supports compatible Android and iOS mobile devices. If your application needs a database, encoding integration or an existing software licence, check those requirements before selecting the package.
Security and durability options for demanding cards
The 600 dpi print head supports fine-detail designs, including suitable microtext and high-definition graphics. Optional encoding modules and a lamination module can extend the platform for projects requiring encoded credentials or additional card protection. The single-sided and dual-sided variants listed here are base configurations: encoding, locking and lamination hardware are not included.
Plan your ribbon and transfer film together
Retransfer printing requires both a compatible ribbon and transfer film. Choose the ribbon format for the printed sides and any areas that must remain clear. Keeping consumables and cleaning routines matched to the printer helps maintain output quality across a run. Evolis provides a three-year printer warranty and lifetime print-head warranty, subject to its usage, maintenance and consumable conditions.
Frequently asked questions
How is Agilia different from a direct-to-card printer?
Agilia uses an intermediate transfer film to apply the design to the card. This provides over-the-edge coverage and can suit more demanding card surfaces. It also means you need both printing ribbon and transfer film.
Which side option should I choose?
Choose single-sided if all information fits on one face. Select dual-sided when you need information printed automatically on the reverse as well, and pair it with a suitable ribbon format.
Does the printer include an encoder?
No. The variants on this page are base single-sided and dual-sided models. Magnetic-stripe, contact and contactless encoding are optional. Contact us with your card technology and software details if encoding is required.
Can it print cards containing chips?
Retransfer printing can suit compatible chip cards, but the card construction and any areas that must remain clear affect the consumable choice. Ask us to confirm the card and ribbon combination, particularly for exposed chips or signature panels.
Is lamination included?
No. A compatible lamination module is an optional addition. The transfer film used by the printing process is not the same as a separately applied laminate.
What supplies should I order?
Plan for compatible cards, an Agilia ribbon and matching transfer film. Check the box-contents tab for the printer package; do not assume a starter ribbon, film or cards are included.
Can you help specify the complete setup?
Contact Lesar with your card design, card material, expected volume and any security or encoding requirements. We can help identify the configuration and supplies for your application.
