The Entrust Datacard CR805 uses pigment-ink retransfer printing to produce detailed photo IDs and branded cards. Instead of printing directly onto the card surface, it prints onto transfer film before applying the image to the card. This is a useful choice when fine detail and a consistent finish are priorities for your identification programme.

Colour that supports a professional identity

Pigment ink helps resist fading caused by UV exposure, while high-resolution printing supports fine text and barcode detail. Consider the whole card design when comparing printers: a clear photograph, readable type and sensible spacing help people check an ID quickly. Protection and lifespan still depend on the card material, handling and environment.

Choose single- or dual-sided printing

Select the single-sided configuration for a design on one face, or the dual-sided configuration when you need information on the reverse as well. The reverse can hold instructions or administrative information without crowding the photograph and name. The configurations here are printer-only versions, with USB and Ethernet connectivity.

A system you can plan around your application

The CR805 family supports optional encoding and additional card-finishing equipment. These must be specified for the application and are not included merely because the model supports them. Do I need both ribbon and film? Yes: retransfer printing requires a compatible ink ribbon and transfer film, plus suitable cards. Are those supplies included? The archived printer offer excludes blank cards and consumables; order them separately. Can it print onto any card? Check the material, surface and thickness against the supported stock requirements, especially for technology cards.
