The Evolis R5H004EAA YMCKO Half Panel ribbon is most commonly used on blank cards and on pre-printed plastic cards. The YMC panels for this ribbon are half the size of the regular panels found in the standard YMCKO ribbons. This is so that half of the front-side of the card can be printed in full colour, while the other half can be printed in black text or logos. The main applications for this type are student ID cards, transportation ID badges, employee ID badges, club membership cards, and driver's licenses.

The half-panel colour ribbon is ideal for you if the section of the card that you want to print in full colour (consisting of a logo and picture) does not exceed more than half of the card.

The precise lifespan of ribbon supplies will vary by manufacturer and model, but as a rule of thumb most manufacturers estimate that ribbons have a lifespan of up to one year. Once a ribbon has expired, the panels will start tearing during the printing process.
