The Fargo DTC4500e is a high-performance, versatile ID card printer designed for businesses that require large-volume, secure, and professional-quality card printing. Ideal for medium-to-large organisations, it prints full-colour and single-colour photo ID, access control, membership, gift, and loyalty cards on standard CR80 credit card sized cards. Available in both single-sided and dual-sided models, it combines speed, security, and flexibility.

Print Quality

Using dye-sublimation and resin thermal transfer printing at 300dpi, the DTC4500e produces sharp, vibrant images with edge-to-edge coverage. For extra protection and a glossy finish, an optional lamination module can be added. Cards can also include UV fluorescent panels for added visual security.

The Fargo DTC4500e comes with a three-year manufacturer’s warranty on both printer and print head.

Security

The printer offers multiple security options to protect your cards and data. Encoding Options

The DTC4500e can be upgraded with magstripe encoding. This is an optional module that can be added as your security requirements grow.

Printer Type

Available in simplex (single-sided) or duplex (dual-sided) printing, the DTC4500e prints both sides automatically when using dual-sided models. Combined with the dual-sided lamination module, this setup produces long-lasting, high-quality cards that are ideal for frequent use.

Card Types

The printer accepts standard CR80 PVC or PET cards and CR79 adhesive-back cards, offering flexibility depending on your application.

Print Volume and Speed

Capable of printing medium-to-large batches, the DTC4500e can produce a full, dual-sided colour ID card in 16 seconds or 225 full colour (YMCKO) cards in an hour.

Connectivity

The printer comes standard with USB 2.0 and Ethernet, with optional Wi-Fi connectivity. When combined with magstripe encoding, single-wire, Ethernet, and USB interfaces support inline printing and encoding.

Operating Systems

Compatible with a wide range of systems, including Windows®, Mac OS X, and Linux, the printer integrates easily with existing networks and third-party applications via the browser-based Printer Manager.
